Winner of the 2003 « Enrico Caruso » award, he was the Italian testimonial in 2004 at Columbus Day in New York. Winner in 2007 of the first prize at the 11th « Mario Lanza » opera competition, he has placed at the top of other important competitions: the « Mediterranean » competition in 2007 and the « Francesco Albanese » competition in 2008.
Born in Naples, he graduated at the G. Martucci conservatory in Salerno with honors, under the guidance of Giuliana Valente. In February 2010 he graduated in opera singing at the G. Frescobaldi conservatory in Ferrara 110 cum laude under the guidance of the famous Soprano Mirella Freni. He had the opportunity to deepen his studies with numerous internationally renowned artists, including Katia Ricciarelli and Renato Bruson.
He made his debut as Nemorino in G. Donizetti’s « L’Elisir d’Amore » and subsequently G. Donizetti’s « Lucia di Lammermoor » at the Spoleto festival.
In 2010 he was called to inaugurate the opera season of the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari with the opera « La Bohème » by G. Puccini in the role of Rodolfo, with the direction of Maestro Antonino Fogliani and the direction of Boris Stetka, receiving great acclaim.
Rodolfo’s role would be a constant one in the musical life of Giuseppe Talamo, who also plays Rodolfo at the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago, on tour in Spain in the main theaters of Bilbao, Toledo, Alicante, Albacete, Zaragoza, Leon, and Cadiz; at the Boboli Gardens Opera Festival, Teatro Sociale in Como, Teatro Grande in Brescia, Teatro Fraschini in Pavia, Teatro Ponchielli in Cremona, Teatro Verdi in Trieste with the direction of Maestro Donato Renzetti, Teatro Comunale di Udine and the Municipal Theater of Pordenone.
Giuseppe Talamo also received great success in the role of Alfredo in « La Traviata by G. Verdi », in a production at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia in Valencia with the direction of M ° Ramon Tebar and the direction of Sofia Coppola, in whose cast has also appeared M ° Placido Domingo.
He played Alfredo as well at the Tel Aviv Theater and the Haifa Theater in Israel, at the Grand Theater of Algiers, the Konzert Theater of Bern, the Stadttheater of Giessen, the F. Cilea Theater of Reggio Calabria, the Bellini Theater of Catania with the direction of M ° Jordi Bernacer and directed by Mario Pontiggia.
During his career, Giuseppe Talamo has played numerous roles including Pinkerton in « Madame Butterfly » by G. Puccini, MacDuff in « Macbeth » by G. Verdi in Nancy under the direction of Maestro Roberto Rizzi Brignoli, Duca di Mantova in « Rigoletto » by G. Verdi, Arrigo in « La Battaglia di Legnano » by G. Verdi, Edoardo di Sanval in “Un Giorno di Regno” by G. Verdi, Ismaele in « Nabucco » by G. Verdi at the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome, with direction by Maestro Riccardo Muti.
His propensity for new productions led him to obtain the role of Cicciotto Iaconi in « Jura » of G. Gabriel at the Teatro Lirico in Cagliari, and the role of Michelino in « Il Medico dei Pazzi » by G. Battistelli in a successful production at the La Fenice Theater in Venice and the Opera National de Lorraine in Nancy directed by M ° F. Lanzillotta.
Talamo made his debut in the sacred repertoire of G. Verdi’s Requiem Mass at the Konzerthaus in Vienna with the direction of Maestro Azis Sadikovic with great success from the public and critics, and L. Van Beethoven’s Symphony n.9 Op.125 at the Teatro F Cilea of Reggio Calabria directed by Maestro Marco Alibrando.

It was Marco Polo in the World Premiere of the opera « Marco Polo » (in Chinese language) by Enjott Schneider at the Quanzhou Grand Theater (China) under the direction of M ° Muhai Tang, and European Premiere of the same opera at the Carlo Felice Theater in Genova.
Most recently he was Ismaele in the opera “Nabucco” in the theaters of Seville, Toledo, Alicante and at Massy’s opera.
He will soon take on the role of Rodolfo again in the “Boheme” and will follow the debut in Caravadossi in the opera “Tosca” by G. Puccini.
His intense concert activity led him to perform in important Italian theaters including the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa with the arches of the Scala in Milan, the Politeama Theater in Lecce, the Goldoni Theater in Livorno, the Teatro Massimo of Palermo, the San Carlo Theater of Naples, La Fenice Theater of Venice, the Philharmonic of Verona, and many others.
He has also sung for prestigious foreign institutions such as those in Geneva, Frankfurt, Bucharest, Paris, St. Petersburg, Damascus, Istanbul, Algiers, Baku, Moscow and Oslo.
For Universal Film he recorded the sacred song Panis Angelicus, for the documentary film on the life of Pope John Paul II, for the Bongiovanni label, the cd « Homage to Tito Schipa », and for the Coviello Classic label, the opera « Un Giorno di Regno » by G. Verdi.
